How much does a video cost?

The fact is no two videos are the same and this is why a 'one size fits all' pricing structure doesn't work. An online retailer may have very different video needs when compared with a charity, for example. There are so many variables in video production; overall duration, logistics, turnaround time and music choice are all examples of the various elements that can affect how much the end cost will be.

Isn't video really expensive?

Not necessarily! In fact with some careful planning you can get excellent value content for your money. By considering a freelancer such as myself you are already potentially making savings as my overheads will be lower than most production companies. What's more, online video is far more cost effective to produce than traditional television advertising, making it a more viable investment for businesses of all shapes and sizes.

One way you can get excellent value for money is to maximise your shoot days. You would be amazed at how much content you could release from a single days filming!

Do you provide all equipment?

For most of my clients' needs, yes, I am able to provide the high definition camera, sound, lighting and editing equipment. However, as no two projects are the same, sometimes a client has a specific need in which a specialist piece of equipment is required. In this case if I need to hire anything I will be upfront about it before filming goes ahead and keep you updated on what the additional cost may be.

Do you do aerial filming?

Unfortunately I do not provide aerial filming services and it is unlikely I will be offering this in the near future. Although anyone can buy and fly a drone, there is a lot of red tape around commercial flying in the UK, especially as we have some of the busiest airspace in the world. Only fully licenced CAA approved drone pilots can legally do so.

The most cost effective way to utilise aerial filming is to hire a specialist in addition to your ground filming crew or incorporate royalty free aerial stock footage into your project.

Do you have a studio?

As a freelancer who works from home, I'm afraid the answer is no. The benefit of this however is that it keeps my overheads down. If you need a studio as part of your video requirements I can happily recommend some places as required.

In which areas do you operate?

Although I'm based just outside of Brighton, the furthest I have been for a days filming is Gibraltar! However, most of my work takes place in London and the South East. I have easy access to the capital, Brighton and Portsmouth areas.

Traveling to work is not an issue, it comes with the job!

How quickly will I get my finished video?

This all depends on what you require. Some videos such as short interviews can potentially be turned around the same or following day, others such as promotional material often require several days editing. When taking into account that you may like to make amendments throughout the edit, this can sometimes delay the turnaround to several weeks. However, I aim to deliver your video as quickly as I can without compromising on quality.

I will be upfront and honest with you if I don't believe that your requirements are realistic or if availability is an issue. However, in many cases of the latter I am able to source experienced freelancers who can carry out the work on my behalf to ensure that your deadline is met with ease.

Why should I choose you over a production company?

There are several reasons why I might be a more suitable choice for you. As a freelancer who works from home I have the benefit of having much lower overheads than most production companies. This saving can in turn be passed on to you.

What's more, as I have done freelance work for many production companies over the years I have gained valuable experience and an extensive network of contacts which can also be applied to your production. The reality is I can't always do everything myself but I know who to call if another crew member is required such as an additional cameraman or an animator.

Finally, as a freelancer I can offer somewhat more flexibility than some organisations may be able to offer. Filming is not a 9 to 5, Monday to Friday job. There are early starts, late finishes and sometimes whole weekends are spent making great content. If your business needs flexibility when it comes to their video requirements I could be the ideal person to help you.

I'm a production company/agency and need freelance video support. Can you help?

Yes; if it involves filming or editing for the web the chances are I can. I've provided freelance support to a range of organisations over the years. Drop me a line to check availability.

Do you have any client testimonials?

Indeed I do. You can read and hear some of them on my testimonial page or view my Linkedin profile.

I need somebody to do some filming last minute. Can you help?

I certainly can! Many freelancers such as myself are used to getting offers for work last minute. The shortest notice I've ever been given was an hour! Even if I'm not available on a particular occasion the chances are I'll know someone who is.

Get in touch now to find out about last minute availability.

I'm ready to book, what happens next?

Great! You can either drop me an email at, call me on 07812 454 785 or fill in the contact form here. It would be helpful if you could provide as much information as possible about your requirements.

Once we've established what you require and I have quoted accordingly, a deposit of 50% is required up front in order to secure the booking and get the dates into the diary. The remaining 50% is then invoiced upon completion of the work and is due within 30 days.

I'm unsure about the exact dates for my booking. What should I do?

No problem! Get in touch as normal and I'll do what I can to ensure your requirements are met.

If for any reason I'm not available and your dates aren't flexible then I will find a suitable replacement who can act on my behalf, whether that be solely for the filming process or for the editing as well.
